FALCON HILDRED
Falcon Hildred produces watercolour drawings, which record the buildings, structures and landscapes of 19th century industry, under the theme title Worktown.   His works range from quick site sketches to detailed studies, and include everything from a tin shed to a whole town.   As an industrial designer turned industrial archaeologist he has a clear grasp of technology; and as an artist is also able to convey the illusive yet important qualities of mood and light. He has recorded subjects throughout England and Wales, culminating in a detailed study of the historic slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog which, as major part of The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (Click here for Falcon’s involvement and drawings).  He lives in an old mill and has a gallery of his work together with industrial artefacts on display there.   There are three books published about his work.
A sample of his work is shown below - but please investigate this website to learn more about Falcon and his unique drawings and mill home.
