FALCON HILDRED

PEN Y BRYN ENGINE REMAINS

In November 2013 a photographic expedition was made to the National Slate Museum, Llanberis to see the current condition of the Pen y Bryn engine.

The remains of the engine are housed outside the Museum itself, to the right of the main buildings and between the Museum and the “Ropes and Ladders” activity.

To avoid disappointment to anybody visiting the Museum in the hope of seeing this once beautiful engine, the photographs shown here indicate the sorry and forlorn remains of what little is left.

Unfortunately the heavy rain present when the photographs were taken did not show the relics at their best.
